Working with Lamb Design Group

Design is a process, not an event, and we therefore strive to cultivate trust and understanding from the start of every project.
We do this by being good listeners and diligently documenting discussions and decisions along the way.

INITIAL INTERVIEW

Every client is unique, and the initial evaluation of your project objectives is essential in assessing how to reach your goals.  We believe that finding out the ‘why’ is a key factor in determining the ultimate ‘how’ or ‘what’.

AGREEMENT

The overall project scope and requirements are detailed in a design proposal to outline how we can best work together.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

PROGRAM PHASE

This is the fact gathering and team coordination phase.  What are the existing conditions?  Are there style or branding requirements for the project?  We discuss budget and timeline parameters, and clearly delineate the scope of work between team members.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

We typically propose multiple creative design options for your review, exploring finishes, textures, color palette and elements that best suit the design intent.  This includes sketches, layouts, and color / concept boards as necessary, with adjustments made according to your feedback and style preferences.

FINAL SELECTION

This is the refinement process that results from decisions made in the concept phase, and paves the way for corresponding documentation and procurement.

DESIGN DOCUMENTATION

DRAWING SET

Upon your approval of the design development components, we prepare a set of final  “id” drawings that document all non-structural aspects, including floor plan, furniture layout, finish plan, electrical and lighting plans and interior elevations.

SPECIFICATION DOCUMENTS

Coinciding with the final drawings, we prepare detailed schedules and specifications as needed to outline all selections for the general contractor and various trades for their use in final bidding.  These include all vendor information related to finishes, plumbing fixtures, lighting, cabinet / door hardware and millwork.

BUDGET REVIEW & PROCUREMENT

Once all selections are finalized, we created a final budget.  If Lamb Design Group is providing procurement services, purchase orders are prepared and sent to vendors upon your final approval.

PROJECT COMPLETION

Contract Administration

Throughout the construction phase of your project, we supervise the progress with onsite jobsite visits to ensure that work is done is accordance with the documents and design intent.  Successful teamwork and communication is key to this critical phase.

Installation

With careful team collaboration, we work diligently to make the completed installation unfold efficiently and smoothly.

Final Touches

This is the last phase that adds ‘soul’ to the project.  By layering new or existing artwork and accessories to the finished environment, we aspire to provide a completed ambiance that resonates with harmony and good taste.

Photography

Professional Photographs are taken to document the finished project.

Maintenance Package

Pertinent information will be provided with details related to the care and cleaning of furnishings and finishes.

Exit Interview

We will follow up to ensure your satisfaction and welcome feedback and input on all completed projects.
